Vote For Libertarians

When you vote please support the Libertarian candidates. They have sworn to fight for us, and to support the constitution of the United States. You know their efforts in office will be directed at working to restore the government the founding fathers designed.

The work of the Libertarian candidates can be likened to the placing of an army on the battle field. The army will fight for victory, and given a big enough army, and the proper equipment, it can eventually win the war. Many battles may be fought before the war is won. Some battles may be lost, but if the army fights on the war will eventually be won.

That is where we are today. We have no army to elect. With hard work we may manage to elect a few candidates in 2010, and a few more in 2012, and even more in succeeding years. Those folks we elect are going to be outnumbered from the start, so all we can ask them to do is engage the battle and fight on until we have enough people in place to start turning the tide.

Will those few brave souls be powerless? No, they may even be able to swing the battle to favor the best interests of the country. Consider where we would be if we had only 3 Libertarian Senators in the U.S. Senate. The Democrats would not be able to steam roller a bill through the Senate. They would be forced to negotiate any bills with the full senate, producing a much better outcome for all of us.

So even a handful of good guys can be effective in the fight for liberty. If we persevere we will eventually have enough people in congress to introduce and pass legislation that will benefit everyone, not just the favored few. Then we can start putting an end to government programs that do not benefit all Americans. So you have to start somewhere. We can not promise we will win tomorrow, or next year, or ten years from now. We can only promise that we will fight on for all Americans, to restore the dream the founding fathers envisioned.

If you have not already registered to vote, please go down and register as a Libertarian. You can't vote if you aren't registered, and if you register as a Libertarian it will benefit our party. Registering as a Libertarian will mean that you will not be able to vote for a Republican or a Democrat in the presidential primaries. You will be able to vote for whoever you want too in the general election.

Please vote for Libertarian candidates in the local elections. They are the folks you helped select, they are one of us, not just a political operative put in place by one of the other parties. Those folks will fight for our interests, they will fight for lower taxes, and better service for the money we spend. They will listen to us if we cry out for help.

You do not have to be a Libertarian to vote for Libertarian candidates, anyone can vote for the Libertarian candidates. If you want to vote for a Republican, or a Democrat for president, you can still vote for the Libertarian candidates for the U.S. Senate, or the U.S. House of Representatives. A lot of people have become accustomed to just voting the party line. They just vote straight Democratic, or straight Republican. That is how the rotten apples manage to stay in office.

Folks the people we elect to congress are just as important as the president. The president can do nothing without the support of congress. Last year in the midst of the gasoline crisis the American people cried out to congress to do something about the high gasoline prices, and congress refused. That congress had a popularity rating approaching single digits. It may have been the most unpopular congress in history.

During the national elections in 2008, many people were unhappy with the Bush administration and they voted a straight Democratic ticket. All of the Democrats everyone was so unhappy with during the gasoline crisis were re-elected. To compound matters, even more Democrats were elected, and now they enjoy such a majority that they can pass any legislation they propose, without opposition.

Some of the things they are doing now seem pretty scary to most Americans. All we can do is to protest loudly and often at the things we don't like, and hope no irreversible changes are made before the elections in 2010, and 2012.

So you see it is vitally important to elect good people to congress, people who will listen to us citizens, and who will always act in the best interests of our country. The Libertarian candidates are people we citizens selected, not some professional politician one of the other parties selected, a stranger no one knows, who comes from the same barrel as the guy we are trying to vote out of office.

If we do not have a candidate of our own in one of the national races you will just have to pick the best man from the other two parties. Do your homework. Don't just vote for someone because he is in the same party as your presidential choice.
