We Need Your Help To Get Our Libertarian Affiliate Running!

We need to select our slate of officers and get our local party moving. The other two parties have enjoyed a long monopoly, and they have been the only game in town too long. If you have noticed our congress has pretty much ignored TEA parties, Town Hall Meetings, and the big 9/12 demonstration in Washington D.C. They have written all of their constituents off as right wing nuts. If you protest you are a racist now.

We are working hard to get organized so we can help send some people to congress who will represent the citizens for a change instead of powerful financial interests and special interest groups like unions.

We would like to ask all of you folks who are registered Libertarians to attend, as well as anyone else who is interested. We would like to elect officers for our local party at this time if we get enough people in attendance.

Monthly Meetings

Our party needs your help, your vote, and your support. Our next meeting will be on November 8, 2009 at the Coastal Branch Library in south Walton county. It is just off hwy 331. Turn at the South Walton government complex, Green way Trail, and continue straight ahead to the library, at 336 Greenway Trail. The parking lot is on the left side of the library building. The door to the meeting room is at the rear of the building on the outside. If you don't see someone outside just knock.

We do need to start moving. The elections will be coming up in 2010 and 2012, and we need to get our candidates lined up and build our membership so we can elect them. If you are upset by the things you have seen in the news lately, remember those things won't correct themselves. We citizens need to get off our duff and elect some good people to represent us.

What Do You Think About A Panhandle Affiliates Pow Wow?

What do you think about a meeting of all the panhandle affiliates of our party every 90 to 120 days. Maybe we could meet at a nice park in a central location and have a picnic. Everybody bring their own lunch, and perhaps we could round up some ice cream freezers and have home made ice cream?

Libertarian Views

You are hearing more people speaking on radio and TV these days who have Libertarian views. Our party is becoming popular as more people understand that the bed rock our party rests on is the United States Constitution. Libertarian speakers are being sought by the news media.

If you do not live in Florida or Walton county you may find information that is more useful to you on that web site. You will also find the Libertarian party platform on the national web site.

Libertarian Socialism, Anarchy, and Similar Attacks By The Other Parties

Libertarian Republican

You see Libertarian Republican mentioned a lot lately, usually to define Republicans such as Ron Paul who have strong Libertarian view points. This also serves to differentiate those folks who are strong conservatives from the liberal factions in that party.

Libertarian Socialism

Now those are two terms that certainly don't go together. Libertarians are capitalists, and fiscal conservatives. We are even more conservative than the Republicans. Libertarianism has no place for socialism.

Anarchy

Libertarians are the staunchest defenders of the constitution. The constitution is the framework upon which our country is built . It is the best government design in existence. We value and defend our government. Anarchists want no government at all, which invites chaos.
