How You Can Help

Join Our Party, Help Defend Freedom

Recently thousands of citizens in this country, who were outraged at the excesses of the federal government staged mass protests they called TEA Parties, after the famous Boston Tea Party. The only thing we Libertarians had to do with these events was to participate in them. Which a lot of us did.

The original Boston Tea Party was staged to protest taxes the British had placed on the colonists tea. It wasn't just the taxes that got the colonists upset, it was the fact that despite all of the taxes they were paying, they had no voice in the government that controlled their daily lives.

Our own tea parties had a similar goal in mind, it wasn't a specific tax, although most people were upset because they did feel their taxes would go up, it was the idea that the federal government was spending trillions of dollars and we the tax payers had no say in the matter. They were upset because the government was bailing out big companies at the taxpayers expense.

That is why we elect representatives and senators to congress, to be our voice in the national government. To look out for our interests. We expect our voice to be heard as if we ourselves were sitting in the halls of congress. Instead this congress is in lock step with this administration, that seems bent on changing this country we all love, into a different place.

The Political Input From The New Tea Parties

What did we learn from the TEA party protests? The first thing we learned is that our government pretty well ignored us. We also discovered that the mainstream media thought we were all just a bunch of extremist trouble makers. While Fox News did report accurately on the TEA Parties, the other news media either ignored us or attacked our cause.

When you stop and think about that, it is really scary. What can you do when your government ignores you, and the press won't give you an honest audience? At this point in time we can still make a difference. We still have the vote. If your senator or representative is doing a good job, give him a vote of confidence. If those folks are numbered among the folks who refused to listen to you, fire them. Vote them out. We can replace those evil servants with some nice Libertarians, who will go to congress and see that our voice is heard.

Libertarian Republican Independent Help Defend Liberty

Like the refrain of that popular rock and roll song, our country is slip sliding away. If you sit on the couch and allow yourself to be mesmerized by the boob tube, you will awaken one morning to find that you are in a different place, and that place will not be the home of the brave and land of the free.

Make a difference. Join the national party, become a Libertarian, and join us in fighting for Liberty! Spend your 25 bucks, join our party and help us elect a few good men, and good women to the US congress. Your 25 dollar fee isn't much of a commitment, but we think it will be enough to remind you on election day that freedom isn't free.

If you were a tea party protester, join up, and help us make a difference! Help select your representative
